NJPHIPAC Hosts New Jersey’s First Health Freedom Gala

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
― Margaret Mead

Last month NJPHIPAC hosted New Jersey’s first ever Health Freedom Gala. It was a victorious milestone for many of the people in the room, who first met standing together for hours in the freezing cold at the “Battle of Trenton 2.0” in late 2019/early 2020 to protect NJ’s religious exemption for vaccinations required for schools.

According to Innovative Parenting:

This sold-out event hosted over 350 attendees, featuring their keynote speaker, Dr. Peter McCullough, a world-renowned cardiologist, epidemiologist, researcher and author who emerged during COVID as a committed advocate to the advancement of clinical science, protection of personal autonomy, liberty, and constitutional rights… NJPHIPAC also introduced a surprise guest speaker, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., a current Presidental candidate, who has advocated in the halls of Trenton on behalf of NJ children, alongside us, the parents of New Jersey.

But while both Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Peter McCullough are revered champions of Health Freedom, the magic at this event was a homegrown, grassroots variety. As Kennedy and McCullough regularly point out, the preservation of medical freedom.. and all freedom… relies on parents and everyday people.

The people who filled the room were moms (and some dads) that met in coffee shops and living rooms and state houses to figure out how they might preserve New Jersey’s religious exemptions from mandatory vaccination requirements when they were told that such a thing would be impossible…

  • The people who met with legislators for months and years in an attempt to help them understand the very real threats to informed consent and bodily autonomy and to reassure them that there are better ways to protect the wellbeing of our children…
  • The people who stood outside for hours, and even days, in the freezing cold at the “Battle of Trenton” to achieve the impossible…

  • The people who showed up in Board of Ed and Board of Health meetings month after month to advocate for school openings and the right to breathe freely…
  • The people who gave webinars on informed consent, the legislative process, citizen journalism, religious exemptions and advocacy…
  • The people who set up homeschooling groups and activities for children who needed an alternative when they were isolated from society and each other…
  • The people who made sure we always had self-care retreats and yoga classes and shoulders to cry on when things got tough…
  • The people who stayed behind and looked after vaccine-injured children so that their parents could participate and spend time with their communities…
  • The people who listened with open hearts and stepped way outside of their comfort zones to stay on painful learning curves…
  • The people who modeled grace and compassion even as they were ostracized, maligned, cancelled and excluded…
  • The people who made sure we danced and sang karaoke and laughed because they knew it was critical to preserving our humanity…

Many of these people have become cherished friends. We have navigated adversity together. We have uplifted each other’s spirits and made each other laugh. We have fought together. We have grieved together.

In a few short years we have grown up together.

And some of these people have cultivated superpowers and accomplished things that none of us ever could have imagined 4 or 5 years ago.

The evening shined a spotlight on some of those superpowers and a long list of accomplishments.

Not everyone was there. That wouldn’t be possible now. There are simply too many of us. But for those of us who were able to attend, the fruits of our labor were sweet.

Let’s hope this is just the beginning.
